You will have a supportive team from beginning to end that truly listens to you. There is never any mystery to your care, as it's our goal to inform you of your choices and options, explain procedures, tests, and results with you, and allow you to be just as much a part of your care as we are. From the first day you walk into our birth center until the last, you'll always be heard and respected.

Our experienced midwives oversee maternity care, along with the assistance of student midwives, providing a compassionate team that prioritizes relationships and community building with clients. We can even offer a reduced visit schedule for experienced parents!

So what IS the cost?

This is a difficult question to answer outright for everyone, as there are numerous things that play into what each persons fee will look like. That being said, our full, no discount, no insurance cash-pay price is $5600. However, the majority of our clients end up paying much less than this out of pocket! We offer several cash-pay discounts and though we are not currently in-network with insurances, we can bill most of them as an out-of-network provider. We are also a Tricare approved birth center and can take Tricare Prime and Select. When you come in for your consultation, we will discuss your personal situation in detail to give you a more accurate expected out of pocket cost. Regardless of how much it ends up being, we are happy to offer monthly payment plans up to 18 months to help make our care more accessible to everyone!

What about emergencies or if we need to go to the hospital?

We only take on normal, low-risk clients so there is a very low risk for complications. However, we are trained and equipped to handle some of the more likely scenarios that may come up, such as baby needing help transitioning to life outside of the womb and postpartum hemorrhage. Everyone who works in the building (even our office staff!) are CPR and NRP certified. Our midwives carry oxygen, IV supplies and fluids, anti-hemorrhagic medications, and suturing equipment.

We are trained to immediately recognize when things start to deviate from normal. Using our knowledge and training, we may try a few professional "tricks" to get things back on course but if those don't work, we won't wait around. We'd much rather transfer to the hospital and everything end up being fine than risk the health of you or your baby just to stay put. Our transfer rate is just under 10%, but 9 out of 10 of those transfers are completely non-emergent. Most of the time, we transfer because clients need or want an epidural to rest or there's some reason things aren't progressing and we need a little more assistance than is available to us otherwise.

In the event we do have to transfer, we will accompany you and your family. It is our job to facilitate as smooth of a transition as possible and continue supporting you as best we can. We will remain with you until your baby is born and we will still help with baby's first latch if desired. Once you are discharged from the hospital, we can generally resume your six weeks of postpartum care with you as planned. In an emergency situation we transfer to Scott & White Temple, which is approximately 7-10 minutes away, and we have worked hard to establish a cooperative working relationship with the labor & delivery staff there to help ensure you receive respectful treatment and care. In a non-emergent transfer, we can transfer to the local hospital of your choice.

SneakPeek Early DNA Test

What is SneakPeak?

SneakPeak Clinical is an early chromosomal sex DNA detection test offered to clients starting at 8 weeks into pregnancy. The on-site service involves a trained phlebotomist drawing a blood sample and then sending the sample with overnight shipping to the lab for processing so you get results within 24 hours.

How does SneakPeak work?

While every person has their own DNA in their bloodstream, a pregnant person’s bloodstream also contains DNA from their unborn child. SneakPeek looks for male chromosomes in a small sample of the client’s blood. If male chromosomes are found, that means baby is chromosomally a boy. If none are found, baby is chromosomally a girl. SneakPeek is 99.9% accurate at 8 weeks into pregnancy.

What is the SneakPeak process?

At SneakPeek Labs, a test process called non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) is used to analyze cell-free fetal DNA. Starting with a small sample of blood from the client, plasma is separated from whole blood by centrifuge, and extracted cell-free fetal DNA (cffDNA) is analyzed for Y chromosomes, which are found only in chromosomal males. The SneakPeek test is sensitive enough to find even a single Y chromosome, giving you confidence in your results.
